Lake of the Ozarks Photographer

"You can do anything, but not everything." ~David Allen

That is a hard statement for me to digest!  I sure like to think I can!  Hello out there!   What happened to the last year?  I think I said that last year at this time too!  Well let me just tell ya!

First, this was my busiest year since starting my photography business some 8 years ago.  I did more weddings than ever.  Along with many family, kid, baby and senior sessions.  That kept me running enough I had no time for this neglected blog.  So if you quesitoned if I was still in business, I am! And staying very busy!  Thank you to everyone who continues to allow me to share your milestones with you.  It is so awesome to have taken a senior picture for someone and then shoot their engagement, wedding and now birth of their first child.  I can't express how much it means to me to be a part of this!  Being here at the Lake of the Ozarks full time now, I have been so fortunate to meet so many different people, each with their own unique story.  I literally have the best job in the world!

I say this every year BUT I am going to try and keep this blog updated.  I have enlisted a little help!

As if this was not enough to keep me on my toes, we decided to open up a shoppe in Eldon, Mo.  You can check it out on facebook at Bagnell Trading Co. or go to www.bagnelltradingco.com.  Opening a shoppe has been a learning experience for sure.  It's not what I want it to be just yet but I am working and learning every day.  I have been blessed with a very warm welcome from the community.  This holiday season has left me feeling overwhelmed with support not only at the shoppe but with photography.  I can't tell you how much I appreciate all of you.

And then my husband through me a curveball and decided to expand our construction company.  Lake Ozark Fire and Water Renovation and Restoration was born.  We specialize in fire and smoke damage, water damage and mold remediation along with the services of new construction and remodeling we have always offered.  So far, we are off and running with the help of some awesome people.

That wore me out just writing this!  We have had quite a year!  When we decided to move to the lake full time we came on a wing and a prayer.  We love living at the lake and I know I have said it here before, but we wake up every day thanking God and feeling very blessed not only with the support of the community and friends here but also the support from our Greater KC area friends and family.

Going to take a week of some r & r with the family and then I am off in running in the new year!  I wanted to take some time to update you all here.  We wish you a Merry Christmas and Best Wishes for a Wonderful New Year!

The "D" Wedding Lake of the Ozarks Wedding Photographer

My poor neglected blog.  After the Christmas season rush I usually need a little downtime!  This time of year I also focus on new ideas, continuing education and other things to improve my business.   I also have a new project that I am working on - I will let you all in on that soon enough!
When looking back through all the photos I have not shared yet, I thought I would start with this beautiful wedding because I am anxious to get back in to wedding season and anxious for lake time!
Briana and Matt are quite possibly one of the sweetest, caring, generous couples I have met.  They chose the Lake for their wedding as they have shared some great memories here including a proposal on the boat!  I loved everything about this wedding.  I forgot to mention they have impeccable taste!  Not a detail was missed!
I wish Briana and Matt all the happiness in the world.  I am so thankful they allowed me and my daughter to share their day with them!

Whoa! What just happened?

I am still trying to figure out where November went!  I started this busy season out doing so well with blog posts.  I remember thoughts of sharing all those beautiful seniors for a week and so on.  Well... as usual, I got too busy!  And my #1 priority is to fill client orders first.  Today as I finish placing the final orders; I feel like I can see the light at the end of the tunnel so I wanted to take a minute to share.  This will be my post until after the holidays.  I will then, as promised share all the beautiful seniors, the adorable kiddos, the families, the weddings whose photos took priority to finish before Christmas.  So many trips to KC this fall, I kind of wondered why I left a few times!  Thanks for my home away from home Martin family!   So many visits to Ha Ha Tonka I found myself giving park highlights out to visitors!   So many visits with old friends and several new friends here at the lake.

The pictures I have decided to share are those of my own girlz.  I come with a heavy heart today as all of the nation does mourning the loss of so many in Connecticuit.  Not just this holiday season but all year round we should not take a single day for granted.  Wake up and be blessed each morning, hug the ones you love.

These two bring much joy to their Dad and I more than anything!  Katie just celebrated a birthday in November and Emily shot her first deer!  (Big disagreement between the two of whose deer is bigger.) ;~)

Merry Christmas and warm wishes for a Blessed New Year!  The Kostuke Family

Election Day!

I know, I know... a couple of days of no blogging. Had a fun but crazy weekend in KC shooting!
Today is the day! It is our American right and privelege to be able to vote so go out and be heard! I thought it was appropriate to share this today. This was a family I photographed here at the lake this summer enjoying their weekend here.
While on this day, and the weeks; make that months, leading up to this election day we have heard many negative comments on TV, print and the internet. I think we could be a lot more productive with positive, useful energy instead of finding every fault that every canidate has but that's just my opinion! Today and every day, I choose to focus on the positive.
This photo makes me smile. I felt like family as they and many others have invited me in to their home to share this special time with them. I can't think of any better reason to celebrate being an American than what this photo stands for.
God Bless America!

Noah Adrian Missouri Family Portrait Photographer

Day 4 family share. OK so this is not the entire family but I have been taking this little guy and his family's photos since he was itty bitty! I just happen to make it to Adrian on a weekend during hunting season so that left Dad out of the picture! I love this little guy. It is so awesome for me to get to watch them grow and I have definately been blessed in watching him grow.

The "S" Family Lake of the Ozarks Family Portrait Photographer

Day 3 of family share. The "S" Family. She and I had actually been talking for quite some time. They were building a new home at the Lake and wanted photos done at the house. The day arrived; it was raining, a heavy mist over the Lake and I think 20 degrees colder than the day before! Gotta love Missouri weather! It was a pleasure working with this family. I think they love being at the Lake as much as my family does. Despite the weather I think we got some great photos for them to hang in their new home - which is beautiful by the way!
